january New Moon…

2021 is officially behind us, and 2022 is opening with a new moon!

Many of us start the new year by reflecting on the previous year and setting new intentions for the year ahead of us. This new moon falls in a part of our sky known as Purva Ashadha. It is this part of the heavens where the stars form the bow of Sagittarius, and it is symbolized by the tusk of Ganesha. This can help lend energy towards both removing blockages and supporting new initiatives. This part of the sky also has a deep connection to water because it is ruled by the Apas, water goddesses. These goddesses nourish the earth with pure spring water, and they also wash away the past, heal, and nourish new growth.

As we look for new ways to grow and look back on our past year, the moon’s alignment with Venus can also lend aid to our efforts. During this period, matter of money, relationships and self-expression may come to the surface to be looked at and processed. Use this time to learn new lessons from past traumas and events. Don’t be afraid to re-examine things. Sometimes we see things differently upon re- evaluation and glean lessons we didn’t see previously.

2022 is upon us, and for many it is a welcome change. The universe has given us an early opportunity to set a good tone and get the year off to a positive start. Be conscious and mindful. Set intentions for the year ahead of you, and allow the goddesses to wash the past away so you can begin this year anew.

Hopefully, this year will be a special one <3
