July’s new moon…
The new moon arrived mid-afternoon Monday, July 17th only just in the sign of Cancer. The positions of the moon and sun in this sign provide for a bit of unpredictability which can invite spontaneity and new experiences on one hand and a bit of challenge on the other.
A few practices that may help us this month are clear communication, an openness to change or flexibility, and patience (hmmmm. sound like some things a yoga practice asks of us?). With our communication, are we able to actively listen, and offer our thoughts respectfully or sit in silence when called for. What if we look at an unexpected change or event as an opportunity for growth or a new experience? And to cultivate patience, perhaps experimenting with slowing down our breath in practice or during our days, inviting in a mantra of “I am patient.” Fortunately, Jupiter’s placement in the heavens will also be supporting us in these practice as it encourages a basic willingness to seek new experiences and embrace challenges.
Wishing you clarity, patience, and flexibility with any challenges you face along with exciting new experiences this moon cycle!
